25 Sep BUILD TO LAST
This post is inspired by a recent happening.
The objective of sharing this is mainly to bring to our consciousness the fact that every effort you put into your marriage and each individual (spouse and children) go a long way to determine your tomorrow and the presence or absence of peace.
The roles we play as mothers and wives go a long way in building or destroying destinies; Proverbs 14 vs 1 NKJV ‘The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands’. We have been created and empowered to be the custodian of such a great task and employ each of us to seek Him who gave us such a privilege and call.
The process of building or putting up a structure that will stand the test of time requires diligence, essential and quality materials, a plan, just to mention a few.
Likewise ‘building’, nurturing a life that will be able to stand the vagaries of life needs very essential and intentional ingredients and efforts.
Mothers you are powerful. Yes, very powerful. But that power has been given to you to create, to mould, to bless. The wisdom to create, build or bless comes from God Who is WISDOM Himself. If as a mother you don’t know the importance of who you are in the lives of your spouse and children there will be a tendency to under-utilize or abuse the grace upon you.
A close walk with God through the Holy Spirit is non negotiable, Hebrews 10:22 NKJV ‘let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,…’ You must seek Him daily, seek His face over your home. At the same time point your family towards God. Talk about Him always, His precedents, His abilities, involve Him openly in all your affairs, it must be apparent to all in your home that God is the Head.
A prayerful life is the key to a victorious life 1Chronicles 16 vs 11“Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” , in the place of prayer much interaction goes on. Teach your children to pray to God, to take everything to Him in prayer. Teach them to trust God and live in line with His Will.
These two essentials are the bedrock to building to last.
What other essential and intentional ingredients and efforts can we include in building our home?
God bless and sustain our homes.
