For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
I read this bible passage a few weeks ago and it instantly jumped at me. It was a light bulb moment and somehow the passage found root in my heart.
The Word workmanship particularly has been resonating and images playing out in my mind’s eye. This word implies a work of art, but not just any piece rather it speaks of a carefully thought out and crafted piece of art.
What Paul, and God through Paul, wants you and I to understand is this: we are Masterpieces. The Merriam-webster dictionary defines a masterpiece as a work done with extraordinary skill, especially : a supreme intellectual or artistic achievement.
Do you have any idea the depth of that? You are fully loaded, you are an embodiment of choice selection of divine graces and gifts that make your existence more real and meaningful than you have yet to comprehend.
Tiny, insignificant you are more glorious than the sun. There is nothing boring about you and there is nothing boring about what God has given you to do.
Nothing you do is unimportant. God is keenly interested in the smallest detail. You don’t need a more wonderful calling; you may just need more strength to comprehend the wonder of his loving ways toward you (Ephesians 3:17–19). My dear woman you are Priceless in the eyes of your Maker. Ponder on this.
