20 May Mummy!!!
You may wonder why the call. You certainly know when you get called that way that your undivided attention is needed.
Now I wish to call your attention to the most trending event in the world at the moment…the Royal Wedding.
Such a lovely wedding ceremony you will agree, simplicity is the new definition of class. But that’s not our focus today.
I took time to be a part of this event, one, because it was the most talked about in the last couple of days and secondly, who doesn’t love a wedding?
However, I was struck by something unique. The Mothers of the day.
It was a beautiful sight to behold seeing the Queen Mother, Mrs Markel & Princess Diana (O yes she was ‘visibly’ present).
And that got me thinking…
The grace, the joy of such a special day doesn’t just happen, it’s a gift from God and the reward of hard work as a Mother.
●It is the promise of the Lord that;
As a wife you become a Mother. Psalms 128 v 3 “Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table”.
As a Mother you live long to see your grandchildren. Psalms 128 v 6 “And may you live to see your grandchildren.
As a Mother you never lack His help. Isaiah 41 v 13 “I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand. And I tell you, ‘Don’t be afraid! I will help you”.
●It is the charge of the Lord that;
As Mothers we take full responsibility for all that He has given us. 1 Peter 5 v 2-3 “Take care of the group of people you are responsible for. They are God’s flock. Watch over that flock because you want to, not because you are forced to do it. That is how God wants it. Do it because you are happy to serve, not because you want money”.
●The rewards are;
You live a full life in health, wealth and prosperity . Proverbs 3 v 2 “For length of days and years of life [worth living] And tranquillity and prosperity [the wholeness of life’s blessings] they will add to you”.
Your children will be raised in godliness. Isaiah 54 v 13 “I, the Lord, will teach your children, and they will have real peace”.
Your labour will be permanent and flourishing. Isaiah 65 v 21-23 “They will build houses and live in them; They will plant vineyards and eat the fruit. “They will not build and another occupy; They will not plant and another eat [the fruit]. For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, And My chosen [people] will fully enjoy [and long make use of] the work of their hands.
The Bible also makes it clear that you will be honoured publicly for your work. “In the gates” means to be honoured in public. This is especially true in the body of Christ. New mothers, young mothers, mothers of all ages will praise and seek out those who have been faithful and raised their children successfully. They will praise these mothers. They will seek their counsel. They will seek for their children to play with them, develop friendships with them, marry them, etc.
It is hard work to be a Mother.
Often the fruit is long term fruit and therefore you get weary before seeing results.
I call again, do all you know to do so you can stand tall on the days of joy.
God will bless and honour you for your Godly service in parenting your children.
Have a Mummyful week.
